In 2017, I founded Literally Speaking—a fiction reading series that features Berlin’s writers and the authors who inspire their stories.
Every month we gather to hear published and up-and-coming writers share an original piece they wrote, paired with an author who inspires their work. It’s a way for us to support our local artists, find out what’s catalyzing them, and all get on the same page.

Every year, to celebrate the reading series and its lovely community, I commission four writers and a local illustrator for the annual print issue. You can find copies of Literally Speaking issues 1 & 2 at Buchhafen, Curious Fox, and Pequod Books.
Literally Speaking is just as much about community as it is about the writing.
